Diary Entry# 15/08/12 – I was there London 2012 Olympics

Olympic fever has been in full swing and effect. My home city london is hosting the biggest show on earth! The London 2012 Olympics. The opening was spectacular and its been great since even the nay sayers have been struck down with a bout of olympia. I actually worked at the olympic park as a gamesmaker. So I’ve been right in the thick of it. I have been lucky enough to go and see a few events and let me tell you the atmosphere is electric. When watching basketball and handball both of which I know limited about TeamGB (Great Britain) were playing even though I knew limited amount about each sport I was fist pumping and screaming like a banchee everytime we scored. The home crowd went innn. And watchin mens 200m final Craaaay.

I have met a few athletes all of whom are soo tall. We have to be professional with them when on duty but all I was thinking is you could be my babies father and future husband. Have you seen Yohan Blake (Jamaica) and Ryan Bailey (USA) sexxxxaaaaay.

Im so glad the Olympics and Paralympics are here this time last year all you heard was young people are rioting thugs and this year they are olympic heros, workers, ambasspders and volunteers. Everyone is happy and smiling. LOVE it.

My Olympic experience has been amazing once in a lifetime I have officially got the bug and will be at Rio 2016!!!

Highlights: Bolt Blake and Wier Jamaica 123!!! Mo Farrah ! David Rodisha (world record)! Jessica Ennis!

life is a bit strange post Olympics I mean I worked there in the day watch events in the evening and partied at Olympic parties/festivals at night. the last two weeks were just Olympics Olympics Olympics what does one do now? *twiddles thumbs till paralympics*

Diary Entry# 7/07/12- I heart Shorditch London, I heart Jamaica (Cray nights out)

I write this after a day of sitting on my sofa nursing a hangover I have been partying like a rockstar recently at some of Londons best FREE events.
Ok so seeing Damien Marley wasn’t free for everyone but I was taken free of charge so that counts and he was amazing.

Puma yard

Puma are hosting an 17 days & nights in honour of TeamJA (Jamaican Olympic team) in Shorditch, Brick lane. I went the Saturday before last for Bump Vs Puma and had an amazing time, ate jerk chicken drank rum punch and whined up myself lol. The crowd was amazing  just cool and ready to have fun typical shorditch vibe. I was drunk as funk and gave out my no. A few too many times which I never do in a club but its all good ;-) . I also met a group of women who me and my friends clicked with instantly we invited them out to a street party which we all headed to the next day.

So still hungover from Saturday we went out in the rain with wellies  and crop-tops to the Addidas do-over block party. The sun came out and it was pure vibes again the people  were cool and funky, met a Tupac look-alike dude was fine as hell all the ladies (myself included) were taking pics and gushing over him. Had to violate my not giving out my number rule for him too lol (besides it wasn’t a club). But yh the next day remembered that he weren’t actually Tupac :-( he’s cool though. Oh and guess who came through to the block party? Only Damian Marley twice in one weekend.

The Adidas Do-over block party

This weekend yet in another night out to Shorditch we hit up big chill bar for some bashment vibes. But the reason for my headache right now is my night out to celebrate the 50th year of independence . Being raised by a Jamaican mother I was so excitied for the day itself especially after watching Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake mashing up the 100m the night before.

Puma yard bar – Wray n Ting cocktail is the reason for my headache today

Man last night was nice!!! Me and the girls and my new girls were again at the PumaYard, we watched Bolt and Blake get their medals on the big screens they had and  waved our flags for the anthem. Then the rum started to pour and reggae riddims ran. The artist Gyptian came on love him and those dreads and just when I thought it couldn’t get better Shaggy and Gappy ranks joined him on stage. I dont care what anybody says no music is as sweet as reggae music!

There is a lot going on in London with the Olympics on. I had an amazing day with my baby brother going to see the torch and hanging out at the south bank. My parents went out to the Jamaica house and the Trinidad house for a great time. The Dutch house is where we got some olympic tickets sssshhhh and soaked up some Dutch culture. I’m going to try the Indian area and gonna hit Puma yard one more time and go to the I love Jamaica day next weekend. Have a look out and see whats going on for adults and kids because theres lots to see and do this summer.

Party Kicks- A lot of MEN??? have told me how much they like theses

The pumayard ends this weekend for anyone intetested. But shorditch area always has things going on. I always have my best nights out there. Its not commercial very raw full of hipsters but laid back. You know none of the pretentiousness of the west end rock up in ur funky kicks and be ready to party hard! This is why I lurrve it.

Btw I am so proud to be of Jamaican heritage. Happy 50th Birthday Jamaica! The land we love. See you in 2013!!!
